Lt. Governor Candidate Dennis
Cook Brings Experience To The Job
February
2, 2010
(Orland Park, IL) Learning
on the job may be
appropriate in some cases,
but not as Illinois Lt.
Governor says Republican
candidate Dennis Cook.
“Illinois needs someone with
experience,” says Cook. “I
am the only one of the six
Republican Lt. Governor
candidates who’s managed a
budget crisis situation.
“This is not the time for
learning on the job.”
Cook points to his
experience as President of
Consolidated District 230
Board of Education as proof
that he is up to the task of
being Lt. Governor of
Illinois.
“My opponents have a wide
range of experiences, but
not all of them have
experience as an elected
official, and none of them
have experience in managing
a crisis situation,” says
Cook. “I believe this is
what sets me apart from the
competition. This is not the
time for on the job
training.”
In 2005, Cook inherited a
budget deficit of $3 million
along with construction woes
and citizens weary of fiscal
mismanagement and rising
taxes at the expense of
quality education. In less
than 3 years Cook was
instrumental in leading the
Board from the $3 million
deficit to a $4 million
surplus while improving the
quality of education. This
is the 6th consecutive year
under Cook that the District
has maintained balanced
budgets with surpluses.
During his time on the Board
the District’s high schools
have been ranked among the
top public schools in the
nation. District 230 is the
7th largest high school
district in the state, with
an annual budget of over
$140 million, more than
1,000 employees, and nearly
9,000 students.
“I look forward to bringing
new leadership, new ideas
and a new commitment to the
conservative principles that
have made the Republican
Party the party of
Illinois,” Cook said. “As
Lt. Governor I will open up
the lines of communication
between the legislature and
the people. I will fight to
reduce taxes, serve as
Illinois’ chief jobs
creation officer by growing
jobs and bringing businesses
back to Illinois. I will be
the messenger for telling
people that Illinois should
be the place to bring your
business.”
Primary Day is
tomorrow! Remember to vote
Republican, and Vote DENNIS
COOK FOR LT. GOVERNOR on
February 2.
